“Speak up for all those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute. Speak up and judge fairly; defend the rights of the poor and needy” Proverbs 31 v 8-9

CAP is a national charity that works with people to free them from debt and poverty. We provide free debt counselling, practical services and financial education to anyone within the catchment of one of our centres, irrespective of race, religious persuasion or social standing. Our aim is to bring about sustained relief of poverty and to demonstrate God’s love in a practical way.

CAP’s unique approach empowers people and releases them from fear, oppression and worry generated by overwhelming debts. Vital financial and budgeting life skills are developed through our services thus ensuring poverty relief is sustainable.

“We go to bed at night thankful that we still have a roof over our heads and confident that we are on the road to being debt free and having a stronger relationship”

“I found myself in serious debt, owing more than £20,000. I did not know which way to turn or who or what to pay. I didn’t have enough money coming in each week to make ends meet and I could not see any way out of the problem… With the help of CAP I am sorting out my debts, without them I don’t know what I would have done.”

CAP recently won the coveted “Charity of the Year award” for research, advice and support.

Drug Proof
‘How to Drug Proof Your Kids’ is an innovative programme from Care for the Family. It is specially designed for parents, teachers and youth/children’s workers and aims to help them:

Become better informed about current drug use and related harm
Develop strategies to help children make informed choices about drug use
Spend time examining their own beliefs and attitudes
Gain community information and access to support

This programme is for anyone who would like to become better informed and learn strategies to help children and young people make informed choices about both legal and illegal drugs. You don’t need to be an expert on drugs to make a difference. The course provides you with resources and helps you develop the skills needed to guide children and young people through adolescence… a time when risk taking can often be viewed as normal behaviour.

The course consists of six - two hour sessions as follows:
Drugs: How bad is the problem?
Why kids take drugs
How to educate kids to make good choices
Prevention tools for parents
Learning to intervene - and where to get help
How to handle relapses

This is not an abstinence, control or counselling programme. It is both informative and enjoyable.
All Presenters are fully Accredited with Care for the Family.
