Introduction to the Gifts of the Spirit
The aim of these questions is that we would consider the Sunday teaching in more detail, taking time to explore God’s Word further and seeing how it applies to our lives and the lives of those around us.
- Are you and do you feel informed concerning spiritual gifts? (See 1 Cor 12:1)
- The Scripture passages in question are: Rom 12:6-8; 1 Cor 12:7-11,28; Eph 4:11,12; 1 Pet 4:10,11.
Looking at these passages, can you see the three strands of gifts?
- Gifts we have and use, gifts to people (in the Sunday teaching, referred to as motivational gifts)
- Gifts we become and/or recognise, gifts of people (in the Sunday teaching, referred to as ministry gifts)
- Gifts of the Spirit, gifts through people (in the Sunday teaching, referred to as manifestational gifts)
What Scripture passage belongs where?
- Have you had experience of the revelation gifts operating through you or through others? Share with the group.
- Have you had experience of the power gifts operating through you or through others? Share with the group.
- Have you had experience of the vocal gifts operating through you or through others? Share with the group.
- Suggestion: As a group, pray and ask the Holy Spirit to release His gifts. Then take time to listen and receive, and be bold to step out in the group setting with what He gives.
