Sermon on the Mount
Questions from Sunday 13 November
Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God
(Matt 5:8)
The aim of these questions is that we would consider the Sunday teaching in more detail, taking time to explore God’s Word further and seeing how it applies to our lives and the lives of those around us.
- What do you picture when you think of God?
- Jon made the comment that there is a longing in every person to be pure. What do you think?
- Jesus criticised the Pharisees and teachers of the law because of their hypocrisy. They appeared righteous on the outside but were rotten on the inside. Do you ever feel that the person you present to the world is different from the “real you”?
- Read Romans 7:21-25. How do you relate to Paul’s words here?
- Although we cannot see God with our eyes are there times when you are particularly aware of God (perhaps in his creation or in the lives of others)?
- How could the Life Group help you towards greater purity of heart?
- Take some time in the week to consider your own life and ask God to reveal areas of impurity.
