Pastor's Letter February 2013
Dear Friends
The prospect of a new home for Liberty Church is very real for us at present. As we go through the stages of design, discussion and application for change of use and for planning permission, there is a sense of excitement. There is a part of me (the impatient part which God is working on!) that just wants to get in and get to work ripping things out and putting things in and making it a place that we can call home.
There is the other part of me that realises that things take time. We need to put in the work at the front end to ensure that the building we end up with is one we can use now and grow into. We are investing now to make sure that we are including the right facilities in the building that will allow us to use it as a place of worship, a place of teaching and training, a place where our children love coming to and are safe, a place of celebration and life and hope, a place of community and transformation, a place to reach out from, a place that buzzes with the presence of God amongst his people.
There are still many hurdles for us to overcome before the building is ours; things that lie out of our control such as change of use and planning permission. There are costs to meet which are currently beyond our resources. This is a time for vision, for planning and for seeking God by committing ourselves together to see his plans fulfilled and by asking him to open the doors for us to make this new home a reality. Let me encourage you to be part of this adventure as we seek God together, as we step up with faith and commitment and as we ask him for what we want. This is going to be a great year!
Love and Blessings
Jon
