Pastor's Letter April 2015

 Dear Friends

These are exciting times.  God is speaking to Liberty Church in new ways and there is a real sense of expectation for what God has for us through the rest of this year and beyond.  Last weekend we visited the building which we hope will be the new home for Liberty Church, a place where we can worship together, grow together, and reach out from into the homes and businesses of Dunfermline.

This month we also celebrate Easter and declare again that Christ is risen.  It is because Christ is risen that we have hope, both now and forever.  It is because Christ is risen that we can live in relationship with God and live life in all its fullness.  It is because Christ is risen that we have a message of life and hope to bring to those around us.

God has put us here, right now, in this generation, to live for him, to be bringers of hope and to declare the message of the risen Christ.  The building is exciting but the excitement really comes when we consider how God could use it to bring life to this community.

I believe God is saying to us that we have a job to do, a calling to fulfil, a purpose to live out in this town.  He will give us all we need, and indeed he has already given us so much.  He will provide all the resources, including a building, but he wants us to stay focused on him and to bring the message of the risen Christ, the message of hope, of victory, of freedom and of reconciliation to the people around us.

As we celebrate Easter let our eyes be fixed on Jesus and on the victory he has won at the cross, and let us set ourselves to proclaim the hope of the Gospel to this town, this community.

I hope you have a blessed and peaceful Easter and I pray that God would continue to pour out his Spirit on the Liberty Church family.

Love and Gratitude

Jon
