Letter from Jon, November 2018

Give thanks to the Lord for he is good, his love endures forever.
Psalm 118:29

Dear Family

I am writing this letter on the back of a hugely encouraging weekend for Liberty Church.  On Saturday morning I had the privilege of being part of a men’s event, tackling the whole issue of sexual purity.  It was a superb morning, very sensitively and courageously handled and it was a real blessing to be amongst men who are taking their faith and walk with God so seriously.  I believe that it was one of the most powerful men’s gatherings I have known and I know that it will open the door to great things for the men of Liberty Church.

On Sunday morning we had a wonderful All Age Meeting where it was my pleasure and privilege to appoint Stuart Penman as an Elder.  Even as people gathered before the meeting there was such a buzz of excitement and a real sense of family (probably helped by some wonderful fancy dress costumes), and as we prayed for Stuart and appointed him as an Elder there was such a sense of joy and the presence of God.  It was a real family occasion rounded off by a wonderful Church family lunch.

It was a weekend that reminded me again of the privilege of being part of Liberty Church, and of how important it is to come together to celebrate, to seek God, to encourage, comfort and support each other, to worship and to have fun.  This is the kind of church I want to be a part of.  This is the kind of church where people find hope, come to faith and grow in God.  This is the kind of church that is moving forward in the power and presence of the Holy Spirit.  This is the kind of church that is the hope of the world.

Liberty Church is pressing in to the powerful presence of Almighty God with a new home where we will continue to gather and grow together.  Give thanks to the Lord for he is good.

Love and Blessings

Jon
