Pastor's Letter, May 2015
Dear Friends
As you know we are currently looking at a new home for the Liberty Family and are in the process of putting together plans to develop the building in order to make the most of this great resource, both as a home for the Church and a base from which to impact our community with the Good News of Jesus Christ.
We have been working with Stuart Hannah, an architect (and Elder at the Vine Church, so he understands what we're looking for in a Church building) who has produced some exciting plans as to how we might develop the building from its current state into a fully developed resource. The plans involve three stages of development, allowing us to move in quickly and to start using the building, whilst we continue to develop the building as finances become available. You can view the plans in the Members area of the website but paper copies are also available on the Information Table or on request from the Church Office.
Stage 1: shows how we would use the building in the short term with minimal development, allowing us to move all our operations , including Sunday worship, into the building.
Stage 2: shows the development of the Liberty Kids environment, recognising that our investment in children and in families is key to our future.
Stage 3: shows the final development of the auditorium for Sunday worship
Please consider the plans and feedback any thoughts (positive and negative) ASAP. We're keen to get initial drawings re phasing and location of Auditorium & kids area sorted as soon as possible in order to submit change of use applications to the council. There will still be scope for adjustment to the plans even after we have submitted applications. Indeed, you will see that we have not allocated areas of ministry to particular rooms as yet (the only one shown is an office for the pastor and church administration and even that is subject to change).
Can I also encourage you to continue to pray for favour with the Council over the change of use application and for wisdom and courage for us all in this exciting adventure.
Love and blessings
Jon
