Pastor's Letter September 2015
Dear Church Family
This is my first pastor’s letter written from my new office in Liberty Centre. This is our second week of working from this office and already it feels like home. Moving our offices in was, of course, a faith step, believing that our change of use application will be passed by the planning department and that we will then be able to start on the work of developing this building into a home for the Liberty Church family.
Last Sunday I started a series that will outline the vision for Liberty Centre and how it reflects the vision of Liberty Church. When we first started to consider this building as a home for the Church I was looking at it purely as a resource; a big resource, but nevertheless, a resource. I was looking at it simply in terms of bricks and plaster. Indeed, when we think of it as a building that is what it is, but when we think of it as a home, then things change. A home takes on the character, the culture and the values of the family that live there. Over time a house starts to reflect the people who live there, in terms of room layout and in terms of décor and even in terms of tidiness!
The work that lies ahead of us in transforming this custard coloured building into a home for Liberty Church is significant. It will take time, effort and finances from the Liberty family, but if our end result is a place that reflects Liberty Church: a place of belonging and unity, of hope, of light and life, a place of healing and restoration, and above all a place where God’s name is honoured above all names, then it will be worth it.
For yours, Father, is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever. AMEN!
Love and blessings
